PIEDMONT, Okla.– A store manager is accused of embezzling thousands of dollars.
Right now, there is a warrant out for Jeremy Todd Parker’s, 46, arrest.
Williams Foods is family owned.
The business is known for being good to employees.
Police said when the store’s manager embezzled $35,000 dollars back in December of 2013 the owner did not pursue charges.
Instead, he let the manager keep his job and had him sign a note promising to pay back the debt.
According to a court document, Parker agreed “he would pay back the time by working over his 48 hours per week shifts”.
Then, two years later the bank in the store alerted the owner of a fraudulent check.
After investigating, officers said the owner found Parker had a balance of over $20,000 dollars.
The owner told investigators “he allows employees to charge items to their account but it must be paid back by every Friday (Payday) or they must sign an agreement showing the borrowed money”.
In all, Parker is accused of embezzling nearly $56,000 bucks.
He allegedly told police he “got behind on bills and drew money from the store in order to get caught up”.
News Channel 4 reached out to Parker, but we have not heard back.
Police say Parker was fired from the job this time.
We spoke to the store’s owner on the phone.
He said he couldn’t comment on the case because it is still under investigation.
The police chief also declined to comment since the case has been handed over to the District Attorney.
Parker is facing one count of embezzlement.
