OKLAHOMA CITY – The trial of a man facing 36 counts heated up Wednesday, as more state witnesses took to the stand.

Daniel Holtzclaw is accused of sexually assaulting 13 women while on duty as an Oklahoma City Police Officer.

Wednesday morning, an alleged victim, her fiancé, and her daughter took the stand, discussing the night the victim was allegedly assaulted.

The victim was the first to report an assault against Holtzclaw back on June 18, 2014.

The woman said she had visited a friend that night, and was driving home before being pulled over by Holtzclaw.

She explained to attorneys that Holtzclaw asked if she had been drinking, which she denied, then asked her to get into the backseat of his patrol car.

Once in the car, she says Holtzclaw pulled his pants down, and requested the woman perform oral sex on him.

She explained how she later drove home, and told her daughter and fiancé about the incident.

Once on the stand, her daughter described her mother as ‘shaken, scared, and out of it’, and urged her to report the assault to police.

The defense pointed out that the victim involved hasn’t had a valid driver’s license in decades, and was possibly high on drugs that night. The victim admitted she had ‘taken a hit’ of a marijuana cigarette.

Holtzclaw’s attorney, Scott Adams, says the victim originally told investigators she had smoked ‘two joints’ on the night of the alleged assault, which the victim denies.

Witness testimony will continue throughout the week. The trial itself is expected to last through November.
