EASTON, Conn. – Family members of a wealthy Connecticut couple say they are concerned for the pair’s well-being.

Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin have not been seen since Aug. 4 and were reported missing on Friday.

“We are shocked and saddened at the unexpected disappearance of Jeff and Jeanette Navin. There are no words to describe the impact this has had on their parents, siblings, and children. We wish only for their safe return and we ask for anyone who has seen either of them since Tuesday, August 4th, to contact the Easton police,” a statement from the family read.

Court records show Jeffrey Navin was $2.2 million in debt in connection with a mortgage on a home. The house was foreclosed on in 2007 and Navin lost an appeal in the case just a week before the couple’s disappearance.

While some people suspect the couple’s debts have caused them to run, family members told WVIT that is not the case.

Investigators found the couple’s truck in a commuter lot on Sunday. Police say one of the windows was broken.
