Oklahoma’s 4th-ranked softball team found out Sunday night they will host an NCAA regional in Norman next weekend.

The Sooners are the number 11 overall seed and will play Central Arkansas in the first round on Friday at 3:00 at Marita Hynes Field in Norman.

The four-team double elimination regional also features Lehigh and Texas A&M, who will open the regional with a 12:30 start on Friday.

If the Sooners win the regional, they will advance to the super regional and play the winner of the Tuscaloosa regional, which features the number 6 overall seed, Alabama.

Oklahoma is hosting a regional for the fifth straight year and for the 12th time in the last 19 years.

The regional will be played Friday through Sunday in Norman, with the winner moving on to the super regional the next weekend.

Oklahoma City will host the Women’s College World Series, which will feature the eight super regional winners, from May 28 to June 3.
