OKEMAH, Okla. — Authorities have made an arrest in connection to a murder mystery that rocked a small Oklahoma town.

Elizabeth Magness, a merit scholar and young mother, was found dead from a gunshot wound in Okemah on March 15.

Her husband, Michael Magness, told police he found his wife’s body inside their home, where they lived with their two young sons.

At first, police thought it might be suicide.

But investigators are convinced she is the victim of a terrible crime.

Autopsy results show Elizabeth was found wearing her pajamas and died from a “close, perforating gunshot wound to the left eye.”

This week, agents asked to meet with Michael Magness to discuss progress on the murder case.

Agents then arrested Magness and booked him into the Okfuskee County Jail for first degree murder and possession of child pornography.

No other information has been released at this time.
