NORMAN, Okla. – Police discovered a grisly crime scene in a Norman home on Sunday.

Police say a 911 call came in asking for police to come to a home near Classen Blvd. and Hwy 9.

Officers were met outside the home by a teenager who said his brother and his brother’s girlfriend had been fighting.

Inside, Capt. Tom Easley, with the Norman Police Department, said officers discovered a gruesome scene.

“Once the officers entered, they found two people deceased, a male and a female apparently from knife wounds,” Easley said.

Investigators believe 23-year-old Preston Wright stabbed his girlfriend, 21-year-old Sarah Owen, to death and turned the knife on himself.

Marcus Cunningham, who lives nearby, says he is shaken up from the crime.

He says he’s lived in the area for eight years and this is something he’s never seen.

“Not crazy about the idea of seeing a bunch of cop cars and a murder in the neighborhood, ” Cunningham said.

Easley admits a murder-suicide isn’t a crime they’re used to seeing in Norman.

“Attempted suicides will get involved in some sort of cutting on the body, but to take that to the extreme of death is very unusual,” Easley said.

Police are still interviewing family members to figure out what exactly happened.
