OKLAHOMA CITY – On Wednesday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder had one last chance to make it to the NBA Playoffs.
However, the situation wasn’t always in their hands.
Despite beating the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minnesota, the Thunder had to rely on the San Antonio Spurs to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans for a playoff birth.
The Pelicans ended up defeating the Spurs, meaning they claimed the playoff spot, leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder out.
While many Thunder fans were disappointed to not make the playoffs, that didn’t stop them from staying up late and heading to Will Rogers World Airport.
As the players arrived home at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, they were greeted by loyal fans at the gate, cheering them on to next season.
