The Dallas Mavericks shot 62 percent from the field, and made key shots down the stretch in a 135-131 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder had three players score at least 30 points, but didn’t have enough defense to hold back the Mavs, as they lost to Dallas for the third time in four games this season.
Anthony Morrow had a season high 32 points and made six three-pointers, Enes Kanter scored a career high 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, and Russell Westbrook had his 10th triple-double of the season, with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.
The Thunder trailed by three at halftime, but started quickly in the second half and built a nine point lead at 79-70.
Dallas answered to tie the game by the end of the third quarter, then scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to take a 111-101 lead.
OKC fought back and regained the lead on a Westbrook layup on a fast break to make it 121-119, but Chandler Parsons hit four key buckets down the stretch to help the Mavs get the win.
Parsons had 22 points, and gave Dallas the lead for good with a runner plus a foul to make it 128-127 Mavericks.
Monta Ellis led Dallas with 26 points.
The Thunder made 14 three-pointers, but their defense was the crucial flaw in the loss, which drops OKC to 42-33 on the season.
The Thunder fall four games behind Dallas for the seventh spot in the Western Conference playoff hunt.
OKC visits Memphis on Friday night in their next game.
