GUTHRIE, OK – Our In Your Corner team has new information involving an embattled Oklahoma pool builder.

Countless customers say Gary Oester took their money and never finished the job.

Some families allege the pool man bilked them for tens of thousands of dollars.

Oester’s no stranger to controversy.

Years ago, the convicted felon also left customers high and dry when he caused his previous pool company to go belly up.

Monday, a Logan County judge sided with Jon and Misty Egelston, sentencing the pool builder to 10 years; he’ll spend eight behind bars.

Plus he’s ordered to pay back the Egelstons nearly $25,000 in restitution for a pool he never built.

Misty said, “We know we’re not going to see a dime from Gary Oester.”

Jon said, “We just wanted to put him away for as long as we could.”

Oester’s still facing a host of other legal issues.

The Oklahoma Attorney General slapped him with six more counts of embezzlement on behalf of homeowners in Oklahoma, Canadian and Cleveland counties.

At least a dozen other customers, like Marc and Christie Volkmer, are still waiting to air their grievances in court but are relieved to know Oester won’t ruin anyone else’s dreams.

“The customers that never encounter Gary Oester, they will win,” Christie said. “They just won’t know it.”
