OKLAHOMA CITY- Oklahoma City police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a former Edmond Memorial basketball star.

The arrest comes nearly two weeks after authorities found the body of 21-year-old Blayke Ladd, who was shot to death inside a room at the Lincoln Inn Express.

Tony Coleman, a friend of the victim’s family, said, “I was sick to my stomach.”

Coleman says the family is understandably relieved police arrested one suspect, 20-year-old Albert McCloud III.

An eyewitness who survived the shooting helped identify McCloud as a suspect.

However, police say he did not act alone.

Officers released two surveillance pictures of the suspected killers; one of those allegedly being McCloud.

However, the other suspect has not been identified.

While Blayke played basketball at Edmond Memorial, his family hopes he’s remembered more as a loving dad.

He left behind a little boy who is not even 2-years-old.

“They will always remember him as a young man who loved his son,” said Coleman.  “I hurt because two days later would have been his 22nd birthday.”

McCloud is being held at the Oklahoma County Jail without bond.

Anyone with information on the second suspect is asked to call police.
