OKLAHOMA CITY – Emergency crews were called to reports of people stuck on a roller coaster Wednesday afternoon at Frontier City.

Several passengers were led off the ride by park personnel, but those in the front cars proved to be out of reach.
There were about eight passengers stranded, most of whom were children between the ages of 7 and 15 plus one adult, trapped around 4:30 p.m on the top of the Silver Bullet ride.
Crews estimate they were 100 feet above ground and assessed “how to safely remove them.”

“The Silver Bullet was stuck at the very top right before it went down the first big dip,” said Benny Fulkerson with Oklahoma City Fire.
Meanwhile, the passengers were provided with water to stay hydrated in the heat.
Around 5:15 p.m., they began being geared up and walked down the stairs.

“We were just going up the hill, and suddenly it just stopped,” said Coltan Flores, one of the first rescued from the ride.
“I was waiting for him, my brother to get off, so we could go ride some more rides,” said Ruben Andablo, who waited to see his brother make it safely.
Frontier City later released a statement about the incident:
“At approximately 4:20 PM, the train on the Silver Bullet roller coaster at Frontier City stalled on the lift. Due to the position of the stalled train, the back half of the cars were able to be evacuated by park personnel. The fire department had to be called to evacuate the guests in the front cars.
Guest safety is Frontier City’s top priority. As soon as each guest has been evacuated from the Silver Bullet, a thorough investigation into the reason the ride stalled will take place.”
All eight people were off the roller coaster by around 5:55 p.m.
There are no reports of injuries at this time, however they will be evaluated by EMSA.
