OKLAHOMA CITY – A man accused of murdering his father has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Christian Costello is charged with the first-degree murder of his father, Mark Costello
Mark Costello, who was the state’s labor commissioner at the time, agreed to meet his son at a Braum’s in August of last year.
While at the restaurant, witnesses say Christian stabbed his father repeatedly.
Mark Costello later died from his injuries.
The family said that Christian suffered from mental illness and that his family had tried to help and support him.
Costell’s attorney says there’s really no reason to have a preliminary hearing because the state has plenty of evidence against Costello.
Costello’s next court date is May 25.
