OKLAHOMA CITY – The second week in the Daniel Holtzclaw trial began with another alleged victim on the stand.
The woman told the jury, in December 2013 she had just finished smoking PCP, an illegal narcotic, when police officers approached the truck she was in.
According to her testimony, another person inside the truck poured PCP on her body. The woman admitted to the jury that later, after a vial of the drug was found in her pants, she put the vial in her mouth, and ‘chomped down,’ to try and hide the drug.
She was rushed to the hospital to be treated for the drug overdose.
She says she was later placed in a room, where she was monitored by Holtzclaw.
While in this room, she claims Holtzclaw grabbed her breast, later raping her by instrumentation, then requesting she perform oral sex on him.
She told the jury Holtzclaw said he could help cut a deal to lower her jail time.
Weeks later, records show Holtzclaw added the woman on Facebook.
State attorneys showed the jury Facebook messages between Holtzclaw and the alleged victim, where phone numbers appeared to be exchanged.
The woman’s testimony continued into the afternoon, as defense attorneys cross examined the accuser.
Attorney Scott Adams pointed out to the jury that the woman currently has seven outstanding arrest warrants.
She admitted to giving officers seven ‘fake names’ in years past, and has ‘three to four’ felony convictions.
Adams questioned the woman about her part in a civil lawsuit, where she reportedly told attorneys she was ‘forced into an empty hospital room’ by Holtzclaw, then assaulted. However, the woman testified earlier Tuesday, that she was led into the room by nurses and hospital staff.
State attorneys later pointed out, testimony in the civil suit was likely written by the woman’s attorney.
The alleged victim told the jury she had no recollection giving that testimony in the civil lawsuit.
