OKLAHOMA CITY — You’ve seen them around town, and any time it rains, it seems like you just can’t get rid of the pothole headaches.
Oklahoma City officials say they’re trying to fix the constant problem.
If you’ve driven anywhere in the metro, it seems like your tires just can’t catch a break.
“Anybody that comes from out of state, that’s the first thing they say, your streets are horrible,” Dru Williams, a metro dirver says.
Some potholes are not too bad, but others could take a toll on your car.
“Yeah I actually just got an alignment 2 days ago,” Williams said.
“If there’s someone next to it, you got to hit it,” Jonathan Card, another metro driver said.
You may not think so, but the city says they know what we’re all dealing with.
“It is constant. We are constantly working on road repairs,” Shannon Cox with Oklahoma City Public Works says.
Oklahoma City crews fill about 80,000 potholes a year.
“We have a dozen crews that work year-round because we always have snow or ice, rain, we live in Oklahoma so we have a lot of weather,” Cox said.
The bottom line is, the city says they know they have a pothole problem, but in order to help you help them, they’ve got a new app; you can just click on it and report where the pothole is.
“There’s a whole bunch of them, I think they’ll get it done,” Card said.
The goal is to fill them within three days, but sometimes it just takes patience.
“They’re everywhere, it’s that time of year,” Card said.
