HINTON, Okla. – Authorities are hoping that a few pieces of jewelry will lead them to the identity of a body found along an Oklahoma interstate.
On April 7, a Department of Transportation worker was clearing brush along I-40 near Hinton when he discovered a body in a nearby ditch.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the body was badly decomposed, making it difficult for investigators to determine the victim’s race and gender.
However, several pieces of jewelry were discovered with the body.
Now, authorities are releasing pictures of a navel ring and wedding ring set found with the victim.
The individual also wore purple ankle socks with a skull and crossbones pattern.
The medical examiner’s office is still working to determine the victim’s manner of death.
If you know of someone who has not been seen for at least several weeks and owned jewelry matching those in the pictures, please call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017.
