OKLAHOMA CITY – A warrant team has called off a search for a man in southeast Oklahoma City, who may be armed.

The Oklahoma County Warrant team says it was chasing a 2005 gold or tan Chevy 4-door pickup truck on Wednesday morning.

Authorities said they believe the driver is 50-year-old Jesse Hisaw, who has warrants out for concealing stolen property.

Although the active search has been called off, authorities say that doesn’t mean they aren’t still looking for him.

For over an hour Wednesday morning, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies canvassed the wooded area of the I-40 Service Rd. and Post Rd. for Hisaw, but their search actually had begun days ago.

Mark Myers, with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, says, “The last couple of days they’ve been working the area around S.E. 29th St. and Post. They had received some information that he was possibly staying in a tent behind some mobile homes there in that area.”

They found him at an area gas station but he took off when deputies approached him.

Before fleeing on foot, he ditched the gold pickup truck in the woods, which came back as stolen.

Hisaw has a lengthy criminal record dating back to the early 1990s, including possession of a stolen vehicle, firearms and drugs.

Officials stressed that he might be armed, causing three area schools to lock down.

“If we see a school is nearby and we know that, we will reach out and contact them,” says Myers. “But many times they will see what’s going on on the news and they go ahead and kick in their procedures at that point.”

The school lockdown was lifted as deputies broke down their perimeter search.

Officials say Hisaw is in the wooded area somewhere and it is only a matter of time until they find him.

Hisaw is a white male, standing 6’1″ tall, 235 pounds with blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt with jeans and a hat on.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call 911.
